I would absolutly love to use this, because I own a 1TB WD MyBook that looks just like it. But when I leave the drive plugged into my system it automatically spins down without my permission. So when I click to access the drive it first has to spin back up. I've been told WIndowsXP has to check it's USB connections everytime certain folders are accessed, and or the recycle bin, and that wakes up all devices on the USB ports. This makes the drive take time to spin up, check itself, then spin back down every time I recycle a file! This is frustrating lol... Long question short, do you know a way to make the drive never spin down? I'm going to switch from USB to Firewire to squash the spinning up when using the recycle bin, but it still spins down on its own.

I've had this issue with every external drive I've owned, and that is a lot.

Any ideas?

Saved my whole life! Been searching for these icons, saw them at a friends Mac but forgot to ask him where he got'em!
